Stray Bullet

Stray Bullet

Jay Heron

He shot his husband. Now he’s living with a cop.

LAPD Detective Mel Daniels never expected a reckless traffic stop to upend his life—but when a bruised twink named Colt turns himself in for attempted murder, Mel finds himself protecting the star witness in a DEA cartel case. Colt’s husband, a charismatic real estate mogul with cartel ties, survived the shooting. Now he wants his prize back.

To keep Colt safe, Mel takes him into his home. But safety is relative—and desire even more so. As Colt’s trauma unravels, so does Mel’s objectivity. Bound by secrecy, scarred by violence, and drawn to each other in ways neither can control, the two men tumble into a dangerous dance of power, pain, and seduction.

In a city where nothing is what it seems, Stray Bullet is a taut, erotic thriller about love, lies, and what it costs to break free.

Bryn's Virtues: Courage

TreVaughn Malik Roach-Carter

She wanted a foot in the door. She didn’t expect to break it down.

Bryn Gonzalez-Ortiz has always known she was different—especially with her supernatural strength—just not how different. A trans girl of color with dreams of fashion journalism and a closet full of self-made designs, all she wants is a chance to be seen for who she is.

After landing a dream job at a powerhouse magazine, Bryn discovers a truth more extraordinary than she ever imagined: she’s an Amazon—descended from ancient warriors, destined to lead, and feared by gods.

Bryn is hunted by a vengeful demigod and thrown into a world of myth, monsters, and legacy. As her strength grows, so does the risk—to her dreams, her found family, and maybe the world. She must uncover the full extent of her power before everything she loves is destroyed.

Bryn’s Virtues: Courage is a fierce, emotional journey of self-discovery, identity, and power—a superhero origin story where queerness isn’t a weakness, it’s the source of everything heroic.

Maybe I'll Tell

The St. Ursula Tales, Book Two

Jay Heron

Besides its stained glass, cathedral ceilings, and yellow roses, the Saint Ursula Institute is known for its bottomless well of secrets—a business opportunity a certain TikTokker named TellTale McSnitch can't resist. Each video they post hints at someone's salacious secret, and that secret can be bought for public consumption for the mere price of $1,000 in the Secret Lover Auction. Slowly, but surely, secrets get revealed one by one.

Being in the spotlight is Cadey's worst nightmare, and that nightmare comes true when she's the first target of TellTale McSnitch's terror. The only upside, according to her best friend Maisy, is that with new secrets being auctioned off, the school will soon forget hers. But when TellTale targets her crush Peter and his gay best friend Leo, the four students set out to unmask the malicious TikTokker and end Saint Ursula's torment.

The hunt for TellTale McSnitch, however, leads them on a winding path with sharp turns and roadblocks. Meanwhile, fear and violence paint the halls of Saint Ursula as more and more secrets come to light. Can the team of friends put a stop to TellTale's wicked plans? Or will his big TikTok finale explode across the internet first?

Please be advised this novel contains a depiction of a school shooting.
